Dr. Julie Lamb

Born and raised in Victoria, Dr. Lamb graduated in 2003 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She then completed an internship at a busy surgical/emergency center in Los Angeles. Upon completion of her internship, she returned to Canada and worked at a small animal practice in BC then spent six years as the head of the small animal department at a busy mixed animal practice in Winnipeg. She moved back to the island in 2012 and is excited to be a practicing veterinarian on the island again. Dr. Lamb’s interests are in preventive medicine, knowing that finding a problem…before it’s a problem…is key to a healthy life. Dr Lamb keeps busy with her 3 children, cats (Katji and Twist), and three dogs (Stella, Lucy, and Penny). When not at the clinic she can be found exploring the back country with friends and dogs.

Dr. Tara Westworth

Dr. Tara Westworth grew up in Edmonton, Alberta where she acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Alberta. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Dr. Westworth has a particular passion for preventive medicine and rehabilitation, and is a certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner. She loves giving an injured or arthritic dog a new lease on life. Aside from working in clinic, Dr. Westworth enjoys volunteering veterinary care in Northern Canada and third world countries. She enjoys spending her free time kayaking and exploring the neighboring islands with her two dogs, Monty and Roxy.

Dr. Ivor Koo

Dr Koo grew up in Singapore and moved to New Zealand to complete his veterinary training at Massey University, graduating in 2011. He stayed in New Zealand and started his career in a mixed animal practice close to Christchurch. Over the last 3 years, Dr Koo has shifted his focus to companion animal work with an interest in surgery and orthopedics.

In August 2018, he moved to Canada with his wife, Denise, and retired sheep dog, Bess, to join Applecross Veterinary Hospital. When not at work, he likes spending his time outdoors rock climbing, mountain biking, paddle boarding and skiing.

Still new to Vancouver Island, Ivor’s still getting used to keeping an eye out for animals that might eat him.
