Dr. Julie Lamb, DVM

Dr Julie Lamb, DVM - VeterinarianBorn and raised in Victoria Dr. Lamb graduated in 2003 from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. She then completed an internship at a busy surgical/emergency center in Los Angeles. Upon completion of her internship, she returned to Canada and worked at a small animal practice in BC then spent six years as the head small animal veterinarian at a busy mixed animal practice in Winnipeg. She moved back to the island in 2012 and is excited to be a practicing veterinarian on the island again. Dr. Lamb’s interests are in preventive medicine, knowing that finding a problem…before it’s a problem is key to a healthy life. Dr Lamb keeps busy with her 3 children, cats named Katji and Twist, black lab Stella and yellow lab Lucy.

Dr. Tara Westworth, DVM

Dr. Tara Westworth, DVM - VeterinarianDr. Tara Westworth grew up in Edmonton Alberta where she acquired her Bachelor of Science degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Alberta. She went on to obtain her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree through the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. Dr. Westworth has a particular passion for preventive medicine and rehabilitation. Aside from working in clinic, Dr. Westworth enjoys volunteering veterinary care in Northern Canada and third world countries. She has recently returned from South Africa, where she focused on wildlife conservation. She enjoys spending her free time kayaking and exploring the neighbouring islands with her two dogs, Monty and Roxy.



Sonia works for a veterinarianSonia has been part of the Applecross Veterinary team since 1996. She enjoys working with both cats and dogs, but around here she is known as the “cat whisperer”. Sonia enjoys gardening and barbequing in the summer. Sonia enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family, her husband Ron and two sons Jeff and Matthew. Sonia shares her home with many furry friends,her dog, Milo as well as her cats Blackie and Wild Boy.


Stacey joined the Applecross team in May 2016. She is originally from New Zealand, where she completed her Veterinary Technology degree. In her spare time she enjoys urban mushing and canicross with her adopted racing sled dog, Daisy. Photo coming soon!

Practice Manager

Matthew Lamb, CD

Matthew Lamb, CD is married to a veterinarianMatthew grew up in Winnipeg, MB. After graduating from the University of Manitoba he went on to serve as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force for over 14 years. When he’s not busy working at the clinic, He is running his endurance race company, VI Endurance. Matthew enjoys running with his labs Stella and Lucy on the many mountain trails around Nanaimo. One of his favourite times of day is sitting with his cats, Katje and Twist and reading with his three children.



Alissa works for a veterinarianBorn and raised in Nanaimo Alissa is new to the veterinary field. She loves the diversity of the job and working with different pets each day. Having recently returned from an extended trip abroad, her passion for animal health and welfare has grown. After experiencing places where animals are not as fortunate, she is excited to further her knowledge and skill in the veterinary field and lend a helping hand. When she’s not at work, Alissa enjoys spending time with her dog Roxy and travelling whenever she gets the chance.

Antonia, B.Sc.

Antonia Terris, B.Sc. works for a veterinarianAntonia joined the Applecross Veterinary team in April 2012. She enjoys taking her dogs River and Shadow to the beach with her husband. Currently, Antonia is on maternity leave- congratulations Terris family!


Wendy is new to the Applecross team! Born and Raised in Montreal, Quebec, Wendy just moved to Nanaimo about a year ago. She has a huge passion and love for all animals! When she’s not at work, Wendy loves spending time with her 9 year old son, Brandon, her 2 year old Bulldog, Ellie, and her 10 year old Boston Terrier, Benny. Photo coming soon!


Kinzie has recently returned to Applecross Veterinary Hospital, after taking a year to visit family in the United States—and she couldn’t be happier to be back! When she’s not busy working, Kinzie can be found sitting at her art desk, curled up on her couch, or bustling about in the kitchen. Lately, she’s been exploring new oil painting techniques, and mastering her homemade pretzel-bun recipe. Currently, she doesn’t own any pets- so she spoils the clinic’s patients with extra love!
